Where an article gives a safety assessment, it is a general one based on cited sources — it cannot account for the condition of your specific car.

Some articles describe diagnostic checks and maintenance tasks. Vehicle work involves real hazards: vehicles falling from jacks, hot coolant under pressure, fuel, high-voltage systems in hybrid and electric vehicles, and undeployed airbag components. You are responsible for working safely, using proper equipment such as jack stands, and for knowing when a job is beyond you. If you are not confident, use a shop.

Every cost figure on this site is an approximate range for orientation, not a quote, an offer or a guarantee. Costs vary by vehicle, engine, model year, location, labour rate and parts choice.
