Using this site

By using MotorLogic you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. We may update these terms; the updated date at the foot of this page reflects the current version.

This is information, not professional advice

Decisions about whether a vehicle is safe to drive, and whether a repair is necessary, should be made by a qualified technician who has inspected the vehicle. Where an article gives a safety assessment, it is a general one based on cited sources — it cannot account for the condition of your specific car.

Repairs you carry out yourself

Some articles describe diagnostic checks and maintenance tasks. Vehicle work involves real hazards: vehicles falling from jacks, hot coolant under pressure, fuel, high-voltage systems in hybrid and electric vehicles, and undeployed airbag components. You are responsible for working safely, using proper equipment such as jack stands, and for knowing when a job is beyond you. If you are not confident, use a shop.

Cost estimates

Every cost figure on this site is an approximate range for orientation, not a quote, an offer or a guarantee. Costs vary by vehicle, engine, model year, location, labour rate and parts choice. Always confirm with a local shop before authorising work. See the editorial policy for how these ranges are sourced and why some are deliberately omitted.

Accuracy and availability

We research carefully and cite our sources, but we do not warrant that everything here is complete, current or error-free. Automotive information dates: bulletins are superseded, schedules are revised and recalls are issued after we publish. Always check current manufacturer information and open recalls for your specific vehicle. To the fullest extent permitted by law, MotorLogic is not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on this site. Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited.

If you find an error, please tell us — see contact.
